Gucci first started as a small leather good shop back in the 1920s, and since then, the luxury Italian label has of course kept on working with leather, making great handbags all along the past century. The Gucci collections include different kinds of handbags, with elegant glamorous shapes, day bags and evening clutches. Many of them have a bamboo handle, result of the Italian political situation in the forties that led to a shortage in leather and forced the designer to use other materials. The bamboo handle then became a symbol of the Gucci bags. Like many Gucci items, the handbags are made in Italy, a country well-known for its leather handicraft and the originality of its design, between chic and eccentricity.
The Boston bag
The Boston is one of the most wanted Gucci bags. With a rectangular shape, it is made of leather. Its size is perfect for the everyday life. Double handles and a strap make it easy to be carried around, even when heavy. It can be found in many different colors, including of course the famous Gucci print with the GG monogram. The price of the Boston bag can change a lot, some being twice more expensive than others, depending mostly on the material used to make the bag.
The Hysteria bag
Hysteria is not just one bag but a whole line of handbags, launched in 2008 by Frieda Gianini, who has been working for Gucci for quite some time and was appointed creative director in 2006. The Hysteria bag has a very rounded shape with two metal crests and double handles. It would be large enough to be used as an everyday life bag, to go to work or make some errands around the city, and has a very special recognizable look.
