The designer Matthew Williamson
Native from Manchester, Matthew Williamson followed the same path than many talented British designers by studying fashion at the St Martins College in London. Once his studied finished, he worked on a project with Armani before being employed by Monsoon and Accessorize. In 1997, Matthew Williamson went back to luxury fashion though by launching his first own line for which Kate Moss and Jade Jagger would model. He also worked a bit for Emilio Pucci, but without stopping designing his own collections. Success had indeed been here and big since the beginning and his name is now one of the most important ones on the British fashion scene.
Matthew Williamson’s style and the label’s handbags
Matthew Williamson is known for his colorful prints, mixing all sorts of inspirations and genres, with embroidered beads adding a very bohemian chic spirit to elegant lines. His handbags follow the same idea of prints, beads and colors. The label mainly makes clutches with chic designs that will suit evening dresses as much as more casual looks for the everyday life. With their uncommon details, their search for different materials and shades, the Matthew Williamson clutch bags are almost small pieces of jewelry. No need with that kind of accessory to be bothered by doing too much on your looks, you can be sure all eyes will be on you!
Butterfly by Matthew Williamson handbags
The Butterfly line is the label’s answer to women who love the Williamson designs but I cannot afford to pay for them. The same colorful boho-chic style is at the core of the collections, but with lower prices. The line also has handbags, mostly made of leather, and cut for an everyday life routine. The styles are simple but details are always there to make the difference.
