The designer Michelle Smith
Michelle Smith has always been passionate about fashion, and she naturally chose to orientate her studies in this field by joining the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. To pay her studies, she had to work at the Hermès shop of Manhattan and this was how she made her first real steps in the world of luxury fashion. Once her studies came to an end, she wrote to Hermès to ask for an internship in the Paris office, becoming the first American employee to be sent to France. In Paris, she kept on studying at the famous ESMOD school of fashion and design, and completed internships with Franch labels such as Louis Vuitton, Torrente and Christian Dior Haute Couture. She learned many things during these years and decide to apply all this knowledge in 2001 when she came back to the United States to launch her own brand, named Milly.
Milly’s fashion style
Milly creates a style that is both young and luxurious. Finding inspiration in retro looks but managing to stay always on the modern side, Milly offers very glamorous and trendy collections for the everyday life of women who live fast and are fully involved in the 21st century.
Milly was celebrating its ten years of existence in 2011, and to acknowledge this great step decided to go through new projects, including a line of handbags. These bags are made for any moment of the day and night: large bags for work or errands in the city, totes for casual outfits, small or maxi clutches for going out … We especially love the golden squared clasp, nice leather, leopard prints and colorful python skins. The brand also has a few wallets in the same style and perfectly fitting all these handbags.
